SOUTH AFRICAN SAILING, WESTERN CAPE
SAS WC is the Regional Federation of South African Sailing and is responsible for all sailing activities in the Western Cape.
LOCATION OF THE WESTERN CAPE REGION
Political definition:
The region incorporating the Cape West Coast to Hermanus and includes the inland areas within those borders.
Geographic definition:
Inland and Coastal regions within the Western Cape from the Cape West Coast to Hermanus
OBJECTIVES :
| To promote, co-ordinate and administer sailing in the Western Cape Region | |
 |
to co-ordinate the Region’s Sailing Calendar and Class Championships, |
|
to award Regional Colours in accordance with its Regulations |
|
to assist and co-operate with SAS National in all its activities, |
 |
to represent its members in dealings with the public and authorities and to collaborate with such bodies in the administration of Safety Regulations where applicable in the Region on behalf of SAS, and |
|
to ensure that Clubs and Classes adhere to ISAF rules. |
ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE:
Executive Committee
The executive committee is responsible for the overall promotion, co-ordination and administration of sailing in the region. It also acts as the South African Sailing (SAS) Regional Committee.

Sub-Committees
Sub-Committees are responsible for the promotion, co-ordination and administration of sailing in the region of their particular discipline.
These sub-committees comprise of representatives of sailing Clubs and Classes of boats in the particular discipline for which the sub-committee is responsible.
These representatives annually elect a Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary for their particular sub-committee.
