Team Sailing League - Western Cape

Milnerton Aquatic Club (MAC) took custody of the Western Cape SAS Team Sailing League boats in September 2020, a convoy of odd bakkies and multiple trailers setting out to liberate the seven boats from Imperial Yacht Club. The boats will be based at MAC until the end of August 2023. Read more...

t is with great sadness that SA Sailing learnt of the passing of Daphne Kasselman on 22 April. Daphne was the South African Sailing Transvaal/Northern Region administrator for many years, starting back in 1980. Most of us will have met her at one or other yacht club, tirelessly processing entries and sharing her knowledge and understanding of sailing administration. We remember her with love and gratitude. Benji Daniel and Alex Burger have made a triumphant return to the country after booking South Africa a spot at the Tokyo Olympics in the 49er class. Just a year ago, the former 29er world champions (who beat 129 teams from 17 countries for that title) were convinced their dream of competing at a first Olympics was all but over. But the event in which they could qualify finally went ahead last week.
