Congrats to Jenny Crickmore-Thompson, John Franklin and Peter Sherlock who have been nominated for Noonsite’s Cruising Legends series. Dramatic rescue mission successfully pulled off by SA sailor

During the build-up to the 2022 Golden Globe Race, we brought you regular updates on the two South African sailors taking part – Jeremy Bagshaw and Kirsten Neuschäfer. 16 intrepid racers set off on the 30,000-mile, nine-month, round-the-world race from Les Sables d’Olonne, France on 4 September, but they could not have predicted the drama that lay ahead, with Neuschäfer involved in a successful rescue south-east of Gqeberha.
