NATIONAL JUDGE SCHEME

Becoming a National Judge

The objective of the South African Sailing (SAS) National Judge Scheme is to increase the knowledge and skills of members, of protest committees and juries at major events in South Africa, so they may better serve competitors.

The scheme is administered by the SAS Appeals Committee. The Appeals Committee is responsible for appointing National Judges for four-year terms and organising seminars on judging. The SAS office maintains a list of National and local International Judges which is available to event Organising Authorities. Appointing the protest committee or jury remains the responsibility of the Organising Authority.
