SA Sailing Safety Officer
In order to be able to make an application, you need to either be a member or have an SA Sailing profile/user account.

Non-members of SA Sailing can request for a profile by clicking here.

For Members, SA Sailing membership can be applied or renewed for via our member registration page . Please note membership will only be activated on reciept of payment made on your behalf from your club)
Before you can be appointed, SAMSA require you to complete a two day SAMSA Safety Officer Training course and pass the end of course exam. This process will take time as these courses are run every year or two.
Supporting Documentation
NB! Before you register you must have the following documents available in electronic format for uploading:
1. A clearly recognisable copy of your SA ID Document or your foreign passport
2. A brief sailing/boating CV which demonstrates that you have sufficient experience to be a Safety Officer, a one page summary is usually more than sufficient
3. Copy of your SA Sailing or CASA Certificate of Competence
