Assistant Race Coach
Minimum age
18
This is for persons who are competent sailors and wish to assist with coaching programs and would like gain practical training on how to be a Race Coach.
Practical experience is gain by working under supervision of a certified Race Coach and assisting with thier coaching programmes.
Certification is obtained by submitting an online application that must include the following: -
- Portfolio of Evidence
- Your Coaching Philosophy
- Letter of recommendation/motivation from Certified SA Sailing Race Coach(es)
- a Valid Police Clearance Certificate (Child Protect Act requirement)
- a valid 1st Aid Certificate (Min Level 1 with drowning & secondary drowning endorsements)
If operating a power boat in your supervised duties then the following are also required
- a SAMSA recognised Power Boat Certificate of Compentency (COC/Skippers Ticket)
- Be a certified SA Sailing Safety Boat Operator
