Umpire - National
Umpires are a type of race official used in the running of sailing races governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing. Their role is primarily to make real-time on-the-water decisions about rule infringements during match racing, team racing and umpired fleet racing events. Most fleet racing is run without umpires, in which case unresolved issues are dealt with by a protest committee after the racing has finished
