Inland and Offshore: Price Amendment Notification 2024
Published Thu 07 Mar 2024
Dear fellow sailors,
I, Anthony Engelbrecht, would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire SA Sailing team, especially those involved with Inland and Offshore operations, as well as my fellow volunteers, Jannie and Gavin, for their contributions to finalizing this new pricing structure.
SA Sailing would like to inform you of the updated pricing for services related to the Certifications, effective as of April 1, 2024. Certificates of Listing, Hull Inspection Certificates, Certificates of Fitness, and Certificates of Competence. Please see the linked document down below.
As part of the pricing update SA Sailing is aligning the vessel size categories with those of SAMSA. This decision serves two primary purposes: simplifying our pricing structures and accurately reflecting the discounts provided to our sailing community.
Lastly, the SA Sailing Inland and Offshore team have been very involved in finalising and implementing a SOP with SAMSA, for the conducting and processing of LGSC applications, on behalf of the sailing community. We are pleased to announce that this has been concluded and as of the 1st of April 2024, SA Sailing will be able to receive and process these applications with SAMSA. All hard copy certificates will be couriered to the vessel owners once received from SAMSA.
We sincerely thank all our Examiners, Safety Officers, our administrative team, and every volunteer who generously dedicates their time to support our community. Our commitment to engaging with SAMSA and the Department of Transport remains steadfast as we strive to ensure our community receives the utmost support. We will advocate for changes in legislation and processes, that promote self-regulation wherever feasible.
Yours in sailing,
Anthony Engelbrecht – SA Sailing National Inland and Offshore Councillor
