Event sanctioning process |
In order for an event to be recognised as a SA Sailing National or Regional Championship, it is necessary for the event to be sanctioned as such by South African Sailing. The sanctioning of the championships is undertaken by the SA Sailing- Sailing Management Committee whereas SA Sailing Regional Championships are sanctioned by the applicable Regional Committee. The sanctioning of events is done in accordance with a procedure described in the SA Sailing Regulations for National and Regional Championships- Time Frames, Required Forms and Guidelines are all described therein. The objective of the procedure is to ensure that adequate notice of a SA Sailing National or Regional Championship is given to ALL CURRENT AND POTENTIAL SAILORS OF A PARTICULAR CLASS so as to maximise attendance at that championship for the benefit of that class, the sailors and sailing in general. The Templates are provided to enable organisers to easily prepare the documentation required in terms of the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). |
