President's Update - Closing Out the Year
As we reach the end of what has been a very interesting and challenging year, I have had occasion to consider what makes this sailing community tick. It is a complex mix of passion, freedom and people - and one of the essential components in the mix, is that group of people that just keep on making things happen. Theirs is a labour of love, with no thought of compensation or reward. Very often, it is their input alone that makes things happen. At this year-end, I would like to acknowledge all the volunteers in our sailing community and thank them for the work that each of them has done to make our sailing possible and to keep us safe. My wish is that they will feel reward for their efforts in the appreciation of others, and that they experience a moment or two when they get to see and appreciate the fruits of their endeavours. read more....
