President's Update-March 2021

Just in case you thought that I wasn’t paying attention to the racing component of our sailing community…

It has been a pleasure to see racing coming out of the Covid mist. I had the pleasure of sailing in the Round the Island race on the Vaal Dam, and last Wednesday watched a formidable armada returning from the Wednesday night racing at Royal Cape Yacht Club. I managed to pop my head in at the Finn Nationals on the day preceding the regatta and am pleased to report that your SA Sailing Council was represented in National Championship Racing – Steve won the Halcat Nationals at the Highveld Sailing Club which is on the Trichardtsfontein Dam near Secunda, and Vernon didn’t win the Dart Single Handed Nationals sailed from Stilbaai Yacht Club on the Vaal Dam.
