South Africa’s Team Ubuntu gave the country plenty to celebrate, powering to victory in the inaugural Star Sailors League (SSL) Gold Cup test event in Switzerland.

South Africa were represented by three sailors at the recent Olympic Games in Tokyo – Alex Burger and Benji Daniel in the 49er and Leo Davis in the Finn class. Competing in their first Olympics, Burger and Daniel did well to achieve a top-10 finish in race 10 but ultimately finished 18th overall, as Britain’s Dylan Fletcher and Stuart Bithell took the gold.
