To all South African Sailing Affiliated Clubs and Class Associations notice is given of the 24th Annual General Meeting of the association which will be held as follows:

Date: Tuesday, 22 August 2023;  Time: 18h00;  Venue: Zoom

For the purpose of transacting the following business:

AGENDA

  1. Welcome, apologies and acceptance of proxy letters
  2. Obituaries
  3. Confirmation of the minutes of the 2022 AGM
  4. To receive and if thought fit, to adopt the President's Report
  5. To consider and if thought fit, to adopt the Independent Auditor's report on the consolidated financial statements and to approve the auditor's remuneration
  6. To receive and if thought fit to adopt the Annual Reports of the Standing Committees
  7. To consider and if thought fit adopt any motions submitted by members of which notice was given. No motions were received from members.
  8. To appoint Independent Auditors for the next financial year.
  9. Such general matters or motions that the general meeting, in meeting may decide to allow.

Following a successful audit process, South African Sailing has officially been designated as an Authorised Agency in terms of regulation 30(1) of the Merchant Shipping (National Small Vessel Safety) Regulations 2007, with the authority to carry out several functions for the next three years.

SA Sailing Online Safety Officer Training – on hold

SAMSA has put out a Moratorium on Authorised Agency Safety Officer New Appointments, with immediate effect. Unfortunately, that means no training of Safety Officers for new appointments are to take place until such time as this moratorium is lifted. SA Sailing will communicate the proposed new training dates when we are advised to commence with training.
