A taste of sailing experience serves as an introduction for those wanting to test the waters before committing. Feel free to contact or visit any of our affiliated yacht clubs or recognized training centres to discover their available opportunities. While the Learn to Sail courses gives any one of all ages an ability; the basic FUNdementals of sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing.

The Learn to Sail program teaches the basics of sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing through one of SA Sailing’s Recognized Training Centre’s in a safe, structured and fun environment. Open to all the program takes any individual, regardless of age and physical ability, through sailing stages 1 – 4. This teaches the necessary skills and knowledge required to handle a boat effectively on your own up to 15 knots of wind. Sailing, kiteboarding and windsurfing compliment the school curriculum in important subject areas, providing a practical environment for scholars to understand concepts being taught. Since launching in 2009, The SA Sailing Learn to Sail program has opened sailing to thousands of new individuals who have learned an activity for life.
